Like the more common Purple Coneflower, this species is native to the Midwestern U.S. from Minnesota to Texas. Both species were common at the time of the Lewis and Clark Expedition but, unlike its broad-leaved cousin, which was known in Europe by 1699, the Narow-leaved Coneflower, also known as "Mad Dog Plant", was never documented until the mid 19th century. It bears rosy-pink, daisy-like flowers on 2-3 foot stems in summer.

Sow seeds in late summer or sping, either in pots or directly in the garden. Prefers well drained garden loam. Zones 4-9.

Approximately 30-40 seeds per pack. zone4, zone5, zone6, zone7,zone8,zone9
